Generally speaking, candidates in the final year of their academics have a vision of their careers ahead. Seldom is this vision based on a logical analysis of any type. This program attempts to clear the vision of the candidate and see the realities in their true colors. It is a descriptive and evaluative attempt to prepare your own blueprint for success.
By the end of this program the participant should be able to:
1. Identify their own strengths and weaknesses.
2. Discover their known and unknown competencies.
3. Evaluate their own behavioral style.
4. Uncover areas in which there is training or coaching need for a better start in their profession.
5. Re-define their career objectives and mapping their career paths to achieve those objectives.
The program begins with defining your career objectives and the enumerating the thoughts which form the basis for the career objective. The concepts of a vision and mission for the self would emerge thereafter. Prepare a SWOT for your own career.
Hold up the mirror and see your true self. Discover what you know not of yourself till now. Learn more about your latent talents without involving any astrology or mythical means. Re think of instances that adequately substantiate your hidden talents now uncovered.
Prepare your own SWOT statement and contrast it with the SWOT statement for your career objective. Map your similarities and dissimilarities. Prioritize them and prepare a action plan for tackling them on a prioritized basis. Identify areas for further training and self-development.
Career solutions are usually pre-decided. Peer group pressure and parental interference usually takes more of a toll during the career objective formation stage. By the time one gets to the threshold of finishing graduation there is barely any time left to evaluate alternatives. This section deals with evaluating alternatives based on needs and competencies.
Seldom does a choice for the dream organization come from the perspective of knowledge about the organization in question – leave alone knowledge of the industry as a whole. This section emphasizes the need to know about an organization, its history, past and present practices and most importantly its map for the future.
By the end of this program, participants will understand how to capitalize on their communication strengths, adjust to accommodate their weaknesses, effectively use office communication tools, and better handle difficult people.
